Midori 11.8 brings partial Chrome extension support, enhanced ad-blocker, and improved VPN

Midori 11.8 represents a significant step with the unification of its desktop and Android development paths, promising more frequent updates on all platforms. With this release, the Android version has been extensively rebuilt on Mozilla Android Components version 145. This brings a renewed focus on speed and simplicity, as well as updates to New Tab behavior, adblock integration, and VPN functionality. For desktop users, recent performance and memory challenges linked to the New Tab feature on Windows have been resolved, ensuring lower RAM and CPU usage. Privacy and security have also been reinforced: the Midori Privacy ad blocker now triggers automatically when accessing AI platforms and features improved prevention against popups and several ad networks such as popcash and adcash.
