PeerTube 8.2 adds channel ownership transfer, live-stream pausing & video segment removal

PeerTube 8.2 is now available, marking the latest release of the open-source, decentralized video platform that utilizes ActivityPub for federation. With this update, users can transfer channel ownership to another account within the same platform, building on a previous feature that allowed multiple managers per channel. Administrators now benefit from a dedicated tab to review and process batch ownership transfers, further streamlining management tasks. Expanding live-streaming functionality, this version lets streamers pause an active live stream and later resume it from where they left off, provided the feature is enabled by administrators and streamers. This capability enhances flexibility for live content creators. Meanwhile, the platform’s integrated Studio video editor introduces the ability to remove segments by entering start and end timestamps.
