Anthropic launches Claude Science, an AI desktop tool for research and analysis

Anthropic has launched Claude Science, an AI-powered desktop application aimed at scientists and researchers. The app is currently available in beta for macOS and Linux, while a Windows version has not been announced. Building on the legacy of Claude for Life Sciences, the release transitions Anthropic’s tools from a science question-and-answer chatbot into a complete workspace where researchers can analyze and generate content, organize work, and prepare manuscripts within a unified environment. Claude Science includes a custom artifact system designed for scientific workflows. It can natively render 3D protein structures, genome browser tracks, and chemical structures, with access to more than 60 pre-configured scientific databases. Each artifact also includes the code used to generate it, along with a full result history so researchers can trace and review analytical outputs.
