@malcircuit As a web developer, I just used AI to bring a server full of a great many extremely old, small, functional web apps up to much more recent versions of key libraries (to remove vulnerabilities noted on a recent scan) without anything breaking, and in two afternoons -- versus what would've been about a two-week, manual process. I was, therefore, able to focus on other, more pressing project matters. For coding, especially lengthy, rote tasks (as I use it), it is undeniably a great help. And, in my hobby area, retro computing, I am seeing so many individuals create new, functional, and fun programs for systems abandoned by their makers 30-40 years ago by using AI. Granted, program code can nearly instantly be shown as functional or non-functional ("right or wrong"), as compared to most other areas, I feel.
