Dopey Dan Tehan, perhaps the world’s first ai robot with a broad Australian accent, this morning advocated unlimited data-centre builds running on any energy source they chose. The big ones use as much energy as Tomago aluminium smelter, about 10% of NSW’s total electricity load. It has to be switched off on some very hot summer days to prevent grid collapse. Dan also loves the idea of putting data centres in NT where Betaloo gas can be pumped straight from the ground to a generator. He calls this approach ‘energy agnostic’. Meanwhile Europe burns, Australian helicopters fall into the flames, and rivers dry up, causing shutdowns of several nuclear reactors, his other favourite energy source. I guess Dan, Shadow minister for energy and (chortle!) emissions reduction, must be climate-change agnostic as well. He can't help it. He's just programmed that way. #auspol #climatechange #wildfires #ai Sent from my iPhone
