It looks like the Raspberry Pi 4 that was powering my Kodi instance is failing. Fortunately I had a spare RPI 3 lying around so I was able to get things back up and running temporarily without too much effort. Then I started searching for a new RPi 4 or maybe 5 to replace it, but I had no idea the degree the RAMpocalypse had spread even to RPis. I guess this RPi3 isn't so temporary after all...#ai
