The iconic ZSNES emulator is back with GPU-powered PPU core, and it's called SUPER ZSNES

The original developers of the ZSNES emulator have reunited to introduce SUPER ZSNES, a Super Nintendo emulator written entirely from scratch. This new release brings critical technical improvements, including a GPU-powered picture processing unit (PPU) core that unlocks high-resolution Mode 7 graphics and enables per-game visual enhancements for select titles. In addition, SUPER ZSNES now features extensively reworked central and audio processing cores, aiming for accuracy beyond the original ZSNES. Alongside these advancements, the emulator launches with the Super Enhancement Engine, currently offering custom enhancements for seven major games. Supported enhancements include high-resolution visuals not reliant on basic upscaling, texture and normal mapping, uncompressed audio, selective widescreen support, and overclocking for smoother gameplay.
