File archiver PeaZip 11.1 refines extraction menus, updates backends, and boosts security

PeaZip 11.1 is now available, bringing a series of usability enhancements and technical updates to users of the open source file manager and archiver. Direct extraction functions within the file manager have been improved, featuring an overhauled “Extract to…” context menu. Users can now recall the last output path more easily, while new Bookmarks, Filesystem, and History submenus offer quicker access to favorite or recent extraction locations. Alongside workflow changes, this release targets quality-of-life improvements and a set of security fixes. Users can expect a smoother and safer experience while managing archives and extracting files. Backend updates are also included: the 7z and p7zip components are upgraded to version 26.01, non-Windows users benefit from Tino Reichardt's 7-Zip ZS 25.01, and the Pea backend has been brought up to version 1.31.
