Joplin 3.6 introduces several major updates, starting with a transformed editing experience. The Markdown editor now renders formatting, such as headings, bold, italic, links, images, and other elements directly as styled text while typing. Inline HTML like colored text, superscript, subscript, and strike-through is now also rendered live. YAML front matter now appears as a clean styled block, while code block highlighting in the editor more closely matches what is seen in the viewer. Building on these editing improvements, it is now possible to embed external content, such as YouTube videos, directly into notes. This provides users with more interactive and multimedia-rich documents. The OneNote importer receives important upgrades. It now works with .onepkg files on Linux and macOS, improving cross-platform migrations.
