Just over a year after launch, Notion is killing Notion Mail as it shifts to AI agents

Notion has announced that Notion Mail will shut down on September 22, ending its standalone email inbox just one year after launch. According to the company, the move is driven by Notion’s recent shift to AI agents, with the company saying more than half of Notion Mail users now manage email without opening their inbox and instead rely on agents for email tasks. Email workflows will continue through Notion’s automation tools, and users already running Notion agents for email will keep those processes active after the dedicated inbox is discontinued. Since Notion Mail connects to Gmail, existing inboxes and messages will remain intact, but drafts and scheduled emails will not automatically transfer. Users are being asked to export drafts, scheduled emails, snippets, and auto-label instructions before September 21.
