Raycast launches Screen Awareness, letting AI see and interact with on-screen content

Raycast has introduced Screen Awareness, a new feature that lets its AI tools access context from the app or window currently in focus. Available in Raycast v2 for macOS and on Windows, it allows users to work with AI Chat and Quick AI without manually copying text, uploading screenshots, or explaining what is on screen, similarly to how the new Siri's AI works in macOS 27. Users can send the focused window through a dedicated command, select Screen Awareness from the @ menu, or use prompts such as “summarize this” and “reply to this.” A new Ask Screen Awareness AI Extension offers another way to provide window context, while a short onboarding guide helps users assign a custom keyboard shortcut when using the feature for the first time.
