Mozilla has added an optional ad blocker to Firefox for iOS, aiming to reduce unwanted advertising during mobile browsing. This feature leverages a filter list based on EasyList to block a variety of ads before they load. While the ad blocking tool is present in the latest version, it is disabled by default, letting users decide whether to activate it. As part of Mozilla’s experimental testing process, the ad blocker is being rolled out gradually, so only a subset of Firefox for iOS users have access to the feature at this stage. When enabled, the blocker provides network-level suppression for many kinds of online advertising, focusing on third-party advertising networks, exchanges, ad-related trackers, and intrusive advertising formats such as pop-ups and overlays.
